Today, as a group we came up with a few target audiences that we would focus our film around as well as the style of our magazine etc.
We will be focusing young adults between the ages 15-35 as a lot of the characters would be portrayed quite young.
The emotional side of the story with the couple and the feelings from the woman would greatly reach out to a female audience who would get emotionally attached with the film and feel what we are trying to create.
The film will be quite dark and those who enjoy crime, psychological thrillers would be interested in the plot.
Our magazines and marketing would therefore target this audience.
Because there is a rape scene in our short film we have considered making the certificate 18 however it isn't that graphic therefore we will avoid limiting our audience. We believe a 15 age certificate is therefore appropriate.
We decided to have a young audience that would be interested in crime and thrillers however we didn't want to aim our film at an audience under the age of 15 because we feel it may be to dark and aggressive.
Some useful comments on audience, guys. You could also make some questionnaires or do interviews that ask your target audience about films that have dealt with the issue of sexual assault or abuse. It would be interesting to find out how people feel about such films. Is there a market for them?
