We have recently discussed our research ideas and decided we are going to focus on 3 films that relate to the idea that our short film will cover.
In the past couple of weeks we have struggled to think of ideas and every film that we though of were listed down on a piece of paper.

Luke suggested we should take the bathroom scene from James Bond: Casino Royal and use the same camera shots and actions that the woman portrays in the shot. We then elaborated on this and felt that it would be best for the women to stay fully clothed in the shower to show she is more distressed. We will further research this film as it has greatly influenced our short film.

The idea of using Crash as our research film was from the suggestion of Chris who explained that it is about several different stories and at one point a police officer sexually assaults a woman. The reaction from the woman would be a good point to look in to and use for our film.

The other films used were thought of as a group in class with the assistance of Jimmy Gore were The Hurt Locker, Irreversible, The Accused and American Psycho.
We decide on researching and exploring on the french film Irreversible which was one of the most controversial films in 2002, which focuses on a woman being sexually assaulted which our film will also focus on. We will see how they use camera techniques to show what is happening without showing much explicit content.

Mark suggested that we look at The Accused which shows a working class woman being raped. Once again this is a similar situation of what our film is about and has highly influenced us. We will look at the ways they show the story line throughout the film leading up to when the woman was assaulted.
